アルマティ滞在中に、市内にあるClay House Galleryにお邪魔しました。

アートギャラリーと、陶芸や絵画の教室も併設されています。

While my stay in Almaty, Kazakhstan, I had an opportunity to visit

a local Art / Ceramics Gallery called Clay House Gallery.

It's not just a gallery but they also offer ceramics and painting classes.

入口を入るとすぐに、生徒さんの素敵な作品がずらり

Many students' works at the entrance.

ろくろも手びねり作品もあります。

みなさんの作品を見ると、創作魂に国境はないなあーとしみじみ

嬉しく思います。

As I was looking at these works, I was thinking there are no borders to people's creative soul,

which made me very happy.

作業部屋にも作品がたくさん。

壁にある大皿はアルマティでも有名なカザフスタンの作家さんの作品だそうです。

Workshop space is filled with works in progress.

The platters on the wall are made by a famous Kazakh artist.

ろくろも見せて頂きました！

アスタナのろくろと似て、日本でよく見るろくろよりは小柄です。

この日はちょうど陶芸の先生はお休みでお会いできませんでしたが

ろくろのワークショップも毎週あるようです。

The wheel was similar to the one that I saw in Astana, and is smaller than the ones in Japan and US.

Since the ceramics teacher was off this day, I didn't get to meet the teacher, but

wheel throwing classes are offered weekly.

ちょうど窯入れの途中ということで、

窯の中も見せていただけました！

手作りの窯だそうです。

At the time of the visit, kiln loading was in progress.

中にはギャラリースペースもあり、カザフスタンをはじめとする

作家さんの作品を実際に見て、購入もできます。

There is a gallery space as well and many works of

Kazakh artists are available for purchase!

突然お邪魔したにも関わらずいろいろ案内してくださった

アルマティの旅 #3です :)

Almaty travel log #3 :)

この日はシンブラックという冬は地元の人にも人気のスキーリゾー

トである場所に行きました。

世界で一番高地にあるメデウスケートリンクからバスに乗ります。

この日はバスでしたが、

夏のシーズンはケーブルカーで山を眺めながらシンブラックに行け

ます。

Just a short drive from the city is a popular ski resort for locals and tourists, called Shimblak.

We took a bus from Medeu ice rink, which is an ice rink located at the highest elevation in the world.

During summer time there is a cable car service that has a beautiful mountain view.

シンブラックに到着するとおしゃれなカフェやレストランがありま

す。

At Shimblak, there are fancy cafes and restaurants with great view!

帰りのバス。

ちなみにカザフスタンのみなさんは列を作らず

バスが到着すると速

い者順で乗ります。

地元の方によると列を作る習慣がないそうです。

これはまだコツがつかめてません。

A Kazakh person told me that Kazakh people don’t really form a line, which is interesting to me.

It’s first come first serve bases and I still am not used to this since in Japan everyone gets in line to wait.

お昼はウイグル料理のレストランでラグメンを頂きました。

サラダとキムチのような辛いのがのった白いこんにゃくのような物

も。

とっても美味しいです

Delicious Lagmen for lunch at an Uighur restaurant.

We also had some salads and something similar to Kimchi and yam.

大きい公園を抜けてアルマティ動物園へ向かいます。

本当に緑豊かな大きい公園がたくさんの街です。

Walking through a (another) huge park and heading to Almaty zoo.

シマウマと人の間に柵がないのはびっくりしました。

It looked like I was the only one who was surprised by the fact that 

there weren’t any fences between the zebras and the people.

大好きなサイガ！

夕飯にご招待いただき、豪快に鯉を庭で丸焼きした

お料理をいただきました。

Dinner at a lovely family’s home.

The husband had prepared a grilled Carp which he cooked in his yard!

食後はみんなでデザートとお茶

アルマティから車で1時間ほどの所にある

タルガリという町の景色です。

鳥の声と風の音に耳を澄ませます。

Beautiful scenery from a town called Talgari,

about an hour drive from Almaty.

There were only the sounds of the wind and the singing of birds.

お昼は市内のブッフェ形式のレストランで、

プロフやシャシリクを頂きました。

とても人気なレストランだそうで、

着いた時は既にお料理が無かったので少し待ちました。

赤紫の飲み物は果物を煮詰めたジュースだそうです。

The place is so popular when we got there all the foods were gone

so we waited a bit while they prepared more food.

We had Pilov, shashilik and some salads which were all delicious!

The juice is made from boiled fruits.

1909年に建てられた、聖ニコラス教会です。

中は金の装飾できらびやか。

St. Nicholas Cathedral, built in 1909.

The bright green color is amazing and the inside was filled with

golden ornaments.

市内からロープウェイでコクトベという丘に登ります。

ちょうど雨もやんで虹が見えました。

ちょっと雲がかかってますが天山山脈もすぐそこです。

Once we were at the top (about 1100m) it had stopped raining and there was a rainbow!

Though it was a little cloudy, Tian Shan mountains seemed so close from the top of Kok Tobe.

とっても良い景色。

コクトベには観覧車などの乗り物や小さい動物園もあります。

ロープウェイに乗るときに乗り物セット券を買うと乗ことができま

す。

こちらはなんと手動のジェットコースターでした！

かなり速度出ます。笑

There are some attractions and a small zoo at the top.

The one on the photo is something like a manual roller coaster.

It goes pretty fast...

速いですが、とてもいい景色です！

市内までこれでおりるのかと思いきや、

途中までくだり、あとは上に戻ってくるという仕組みでした。

（上に戻る時は自動）

I thought it would take us all the way back to the city but it goes about half way down the hill

and comes back up automatically.

アルマティ市内の南にあるFirst President's park （大統領公園？）

という公園です。

こちらの公園もとっても広く、晴れた日は天山山脈を

眺めることができます。

ちなみにこの写真は夜７時ごろですがまだまだ明るいです！

It's a huge park with a great view of the mountains (plus a rainbow this time!)

The photo was taken around 7pm but it was still very light out.

In Yokohama, where I currently live, is gets dark around 7pm in May so I lost track of time.

また虹がありました。

5月のアルマティは雨が降ったりやんだりが多いそうです。

Almaty weather is unpredictable in May.

夜はご招待いただいて素敵なウイグル家庭料理を頂きました。

かぼちゃのマンティ(大きい小籠包のようなもの)、サモサ、

ナン、

牛肉と野菜を3時間煮込んだドゥムラマというお料理、

手作りデザートなどなど

どれも素晴らしく美味しいお料理でした。

カザフスタンの方々のおもてなしの心は本当にものすごく温かくて

学ぶことがたくさんです。

I was invited to a family dinner and had an amazing Uyghur family meal.

Punmpkin Mantee, Samsa, Nan, Domlyama (Beef and vegetables cooked for 3 hours),

home made desserts and more.

They were all amazingly delicious and filled with love.

Kazakh people's hospitality is just so unbelievably amazingly kind and heart warming,

I have so much to learn!

ドライフルーツは本当に中央アジアのみなさんの生活の一部なんだ

なー

と実感。

So many huge dried fruits!

They're really part of people's daily lives here.

ちょうどラマダンのはじまりでしたので人が集まっていました。
